6th annual Green Mountain Watercolor Exhibition
July 1 @ 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Big Red Barn at Lareau Farm in Waitsfield is newly renovated – and now on the National Register of Historic Buildings. It’s home to a unique show of more than 80 outstanding watercolor paintings from across North America. Three jurors who hold membership in nationally recognized watercolor societies selected the best paintings from a large pool of entries. All work must be created using a water-based medium remaining solvent after dry. The exhibition also includes paintings by the jurors, the judge, guest artists and the curator.
Valley Arts is honored to have the internationally recognized watercolor artist, Anne Abgott, as the judge of awards for the 2017 Green Mountain Watercolor Exhibition. Abgott has received more than 100 awards for her paintings, has judged numerous exhibitions and is author of the best-selling art book Daring Color.
A Gala Opening Reception will be held Sunday, June 18 from 5 – 9 pm. All are invited to this free event. The Red Barn Gallery is open from noon to 9 pm, Thursday through Sunday until the exhibit closes on Saturday, July 22.
The generous sponsorship by our corporate partner, Lareau Farm, Home of American Flatbread, enables Valley Arts to make this outstanding exhibition free to the public.
