The Great Vermont Plein Air Paint-Out returns with a new name in 2017. The Great Vermont Plein Air Festival welcomes artists of all abilities to the Mad River Valley for two great days of painting on Friday and Saturday, August 11 & 12.
No competition, no prizes and no undue pressures create a just-for-fun atmosphere for you to enjoy mingling with fellow artists while painting the stunning landscape of the historic Valley. Paint one or both days!
Your days start with a free continental breakfast where you meet your fellow artists before heading out to your painting site. New this year will be a map noting “suggested” locations; however, you are welcome to paint anywhere you desire. The map will also be available for visitors desiring to find painters in action.
Bring two framed, previously painted images with you – one to display at your paint site and one for the sidewalk art sale which will take place both days this year.
Registration forms and detailed information is right here; click on the arrow in the upper right corner of this insert and it’ll “pop out”, allowing you to print the pages, fill them out and return to Valley Arts with your payment. We plan to change this format soon to a totally on-line set-up, but for now this works fine.
The ever-popular and free Children’s Plein Air Event takes place on Saturday, August 12.
A ‘Yart Sale” is scheduled for Saturday. Do you have unused art materials, paintings or frames that are sitting around your studio? Bring them along and put them in the ‘Yart Sale” tent priced to sell. Special activities are also planned in conjunction with the Saturday sidewalk art sale.
The Great Vermont Plein Air Festival takes place rain or shine (we do promise nice weather this year). Fill out the attached registration form and be part of this fun-filled gathering of artists.
